Prep the Area
Check each item off as you handle it.
When the Install Is Done
Your coating needs a little time to cure before it's ready for foot and tire traffic. Here's the timeline.
Stay off the floor for 12 hours. Foot traffic needs to wait a minimum of 12 hours after install.
After 24 hours you can move belongings back and resume regular use of the space.
Check the temperature before you drive on it. Use the calculator below — drive-on time depends on how warm it was during install.
Ongoing Care
Routine cleaning and a little awareness around chemicals and metal keep your floor looking new for years.
Sweep and rinse regularly. Sweep off sand and salt, then rinse with water — a squeegee makes clearing the water quick and easy.
For a deep clean, use Simple Green, PineSol, or Dawn dish soap mixed with warm water.
For tougher spots, let cleaner sit 5–10 minutes, scrub with a stiff brush, wait 5 more minutes, then rinse again.
For stubborn stains, pour a small amount of denatured alcohol on a rag and wipe the area.
Good Habits
- Clean up chemical spills as soon as you notice them.
- Use a kick plate under a motorcycle stand or other heavy metal.
- Use a plastic shovel or broom to clear snow from patios and porches.
Avoid This
- Long-term bleach exposure, acids, or highly corrosive materials.
- Dragging metal objects, refrigerators, or freezers across the surface.
- Tire shine/cleaning products (ArmorAll, Meguiar's, Black Magic) — they can yellow the coating.
- Leaving metal tools or equipment sitting on the coating — rust can stain it over time.
Patio furniture and rugs: avoid leaving them in the exact same spot for long stretches during year one. Like hardwood floors, slight fading can occur the first year before the coating fully stabilizes.
